Struggling with food and body image can consume your thoughts, energy, and joy.
Whether you’re dealing with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, orthorexia, or chronic dieting, our team is here to help you find healing and wholeness. Our work is deeply rooted in the understanding that eating disorders are not just about food—they’re about self-worth, emotional pain, and coping mechanisms. Our integrative approach combines:

- DBT and RO-DBT for emotion regulation and relational healing
- Somatic and trauma-informed modalities that help reconnect mind and body
- Collaboration with registered dietitians for nutrition support, as well as other treatment team members
We work with adolescents and adults, including those in early recovery and those who have struggled for years.
If you’re ready to heal your relationship with food, your body, and yourself—we’re here to walk beside you.
What is an Eating Disorder?
Eating disorders consist of serious health conditions that negatively affect both your physical and mental health. For instance, they can include how you think about food, eating, your weight, and your overall eating behaviors. If eating disorders are not treated properly, they can become long-term problems and, in some cases, lead to death. Common eating disorders usually include anorexia, bulimia, and binge-eating. In most cases, those with eating disorders tend to excessively focus on weight, body shape, and food, which can lead to very dangerous behaviors and can seriously affect the ability to receive nutrition.
Eating disorders are known to affect the heart, digestive system, bones, teeth, and mouth, as well as other types of diseases. Unfortunately, eating disorders can also be linked to depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

Understanding the Relationship with Food
Your relationship to food is a sacred and life-giving connection. We learn messages about food and self-nurturance over our entire lives through our families, culture, friendships, peer groups, etc. At any point in time, our relationship to food and body can shift- a period of intense stress or extreme changes in life circumstances or a new developmental time of life- can set unhealthy patterns into motion. Puberty, marriage, childbirth, divorce, menopause, trauma, accidents, loss of a loved one, etc., all can come with unique challenges that can disrupt our relationship with our food and body.
Exploration & Support at Deepen Wellness
Starting to explore your relationship to food and body can be a very personal journey. We can help by assessing your relationship with food and body through a lens of beliefs, feelings, and behaviors. We can create a unique plan that helps you change your food-related behaviors while better caring for and understanding your emotional needs. At Deepen Wellness, we have individual therapists who specialize in eating disorders, FBT family-based treatment, Dietician sessions, as well as groups to treat eating disorders.
Treatment Process & Modalities
Treatment for eating disorders will be specifically tailored to your needs through an initial assessment followed by a treatment planning session. Psychotherapy or talk therapy is used as a primary mode of treatment for eating disorders. In addition, nutritional counseling, psychiatry, family/ couples counseling, and/or group therapy are often needed as well, depending on the level and intensity of the eating disorder. The length of treatment depends on the individual’s ability to make behavioral changes in their relationship with food.
Supporting Families in the Healing Process
Is your child or teen struggling with an eating disorder?
We offer Family-Based Therapy (FBT)—a leading, evidence-based treatment approach that empowers caregivers to take an active and central role in their loved one’s recovery. If you suspect your child has an eating disorder or they have recently received a diagnosis, it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed or uncertain about which treatment approach is most effective. FBT is one of the most successful treatments for anorexia nervosa and related eating disorders, particularly for adolescents and young adults still living at home. This highly effective model allows parents to implement structured interventions in the home while receiving ongoing guidance and support from an FBT specialist. In some cases, it can serve as an alternative to higher levels of care, helping families support recovery within their everyday environment.
